Yesterday, The Sabah Society embarked on an unforgettable adventure to the highest point of Pulau Gaya. A total of 77 hikers took part, each bringing energy, enthusiasm, and a shared love for exploration.
The trail was steep and demanding, but determination carried the group forward. Sixty participants, including three dedicated medics, reached the summit and stood together at the island’s peak in a moment of shared accomplishment.
What made this experience especially inspiring was the diversity of the hikers. Among them were participants in their seventies, proving that age is no barrier to adventure. Their strength and resilience were a reminder of the spirit that defines exploration.
Beyond the challenge, the hike fostered camaraderie, unforgettable memories, and the joy of achievement. To all who joined, thank you for being part of this journey. Apologies are extended for any shortcomings along the way. Each hike is a chance to learn, and improvements will continue to be made for future outings.
This climb to Pulau Gaya’s highest point will remain a meaningful chapter in the ongoing mission ‘to know Sabah‘ step by step, together.
