Hi I’m Nicholas,
The Asian Quizzing League has been online since 2020 and we have around 48 teams from all over Asia participating in our league. Basically how it works is that we have teams of 4 players competing against each other from across the region on Zoom, across all sorts of disciplines such as Art, History, Geography, Sports, Pop Culture and so forth
Because most of knowledge and most of quiz around the world is very Euro-centric, very Anglo-American centric, we have decided to make the Asian Quizzing Championship.
We want Asians to be fairly represented in questions as well as in knowledge, because there is a lot of important knowledge, a lot of Sabahan and Borneon knowledge out there that deserves to have questions to be set about them.
When you set questions about something, you bring it to the wider audience as a fact that people need to know.
I hope everyone will be able to join the webinar set by Sabah Society about quizzing in the Asia Pacific not merely because we are hoping to recruit more players (and question setters!) but because quizzing and the pursuit of knowledge is a whole lot of fun!
Please feel free to drop by, we will organise an actual demonstration match that will be open to everyone after the talk.
