Growing up as a local Sabahan with little connection to nature\, she later developed a deep passion for wildlife and forests through hands-on field experience.

He is currently a member of the Malaysian Nature Society-Bird Conservation Council Records Committee\, which assesses rare bird records for Malaysia. He authored A Naturalist Guide to the Birds of Borneo\, also published by John Beaufoy.
