DESCRIPTION:Arguably the youngest cadet to serve in the British North Borneo Chartered Company\, AR Dunlop’s life and 46-year career in British North Borneo is extraordinary to say the least. His diaries give us a glimpse of the early part of the British administration where among other things\, he was involved in the pursuit of Mat Salleh who posed the most serious challenge to British rule.\n\nHis diaries are also infused with sketches of many local people and places\, showing Dunlop’s artistic talent.\n\n
