TSS KK Film Night: Zach’s ceremony (2016)

Growing up isn’t easy, especially for Zach who is rapidly making the transition from boyhood to manhood, in both the modern world and his ancient culture. Pressures from his loving, but staunch father, the temptations of city life and the ever-present spectre of racism all take their toll. Ultimately Zach must embrace the traditions and knowledge of his ancestors and awaken the warrior within.  Filmed over five years, this is the uplifting and moving coming-of-age debut documentary from filmmaker Aaron Petersen.

Awards:  Best Film, Best Documentary, Most Popular Documentary, Audience Award and People’s Award in Adelaide, Byron Bay, Melbourne and Sydney Film Festivals

It’s on the Tuesday, 19th Mar  2019 at  the Secretariat Office, Damai Plaza. The movie will start at 8.00 pm sharp. [ Approx screening time: 1H 33M ]

For non-members, a  nominal fee of RM10 will be charged as a one-night membership to The Sabah Society and for current members of the Sabah Society, the usual contribution to the Magic Box will assist in covering costs.
