Jim Clements (Country Co-ordinator) Yolanda Graham (Education) and Mac McCarthy (projects) gave an in-depth overview of the history and work of Raleigh from its inception in 1978 to 2009 when it celebrates its Silver Jubilee.

In Sabah, the adventurers have been involved in many projects throughout the State such as gravity feed systems to supply water in remote villages, building libraries, village centres, helping build the infrastucture in places like Imbak Canyon, clearing trails and many, many others.

Participants from UK have to raise £3,000.00 before they will be considered. The selection process is strict to ensure that only those candidates robust enough to contribute to and benefit from the programme are selected. For local Malaysians, the amount is reduced to RM500.00, or even to zero when considered necessary to encourage a wider range of people and give opportunities to youngsters who would otherwise be unable to participate.
