The Sabah Society is pleased to welcome Ms. Jacquelyn Borgeson,  who will present a talk and photo presentation covering both the 1920 and 1935 photo expeditions conducted by explorers Martin and Osa Johnson up the Kinabatangan.  She will also discuss ongoing and proposed projects by the Safari Museum to make the photos and films available to all peoples of Sabah.
Ms Borgeson is curator emeritus of the Martin and Osa Johnson Safari Museum in Chanute, Kansas. She shares her October 9th birthday with explorer Martin Johnson and was hired by the museum in 1995, after completing a Masters Degree in Museum Studies. Later, promoted to chief curator, she was responsible for developing curriculum, tours, outreach events, conservation programs, the annual film festival and the research, design and installation of special in-house exhibitions. Jacquelyn also curated a national touring exhibition based on the lives of Martin and Osa Johnson. Today as curator emeritus, Jacquelyn remains the liaison between the Safari Museum in Kansas and its sister museums, in Burkina Faso, West Africa and in Sabah, Malaysia.
The talk will commence at 19:30 at the Secretariat (click for directions) on Tuesday 25th August, 2009. Please click here to register for this event. We look forward to seeing you all there.
