The Sabah Society is pleased to host a presentation on the Honey Bees of Borneo, by Nikolaus Koeniger, Gudrun Koeniger and Salim Tingek. The presentation will be held at The Sabah Society Secretariat at No. 46, 1st Floor, Lot 34, Block E, Damai Plaza Phase 4, Luyang, Kota Kinabalu Commencing at 7:30 pm. The annual Murut Festival will take place at the Murut Cultural Centre in Tenom from Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th April. One of our members, Jane Green, who lives in a village near Tenom, very kindly invites members who wish to attend this festival to camp in her garden. He later became Principal of St Martin’s, Tambunan, returned briefly to Kota Kinabalu but moved back to the Interior Yayasan Sabah has invited up to 18 members of The Sabah Society to participate in the Borneo International Conference “Discover Borneo” to be held on the 6th April, 2010 at the Tun Hamdan Mini Theatre, Menara Tun Mustapha, Kota Kinabalu. This Conference is organized in conjunction with the launching of the “k@Borneo” portal on the Green SURF cordially invite you to “Energy Options for Sabah”, a forum to discuss the future of energy production in Sabah, where the public can air their views and hear presentations by Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) on the proposed coal-fired power plant and Green SURF and the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) on clean Eight Sabah Society members participated in the outing to Kapalai. It was raining cats and dogs the few days before the trip. But the heavens broke up in time to provide us fine weather as we made our way to Kapalai. Madam Goh provided us with a comfortable four and a half hour overland ride The opening of the new Art Exhibition at The Sabah Society Secretariat, featuring the latest work of Dianne Gee, will be opened on Wednesday 10th March. The Society continues to be grateful to the Hyatt International Hotel for its sponsorship of the Art Exhibitions, and the artists are very appreciative of the exposure they receive The Annual General Meeting of the Sabah Society will be held at the Secretariat on Tuesday 20th April, 2010 at 7.oopm. |
