Secretariat Christmas Timings

Over the Christmas period, The Sabah Society Secretariat will be closed from 22 – 28 December inclusive. It will be “business as usual” from 29 December, with the exception of the Public Holiday on 1st January 2010.

2010 Young Conservationist Award

Co-sponsored by the International Ranger Federation on protected Areas, in collaboration with Parks Visctoria and the George Wright Society, the award aims to recognize and raise awareness of the outstanding contributions made to the management of protected areas, and leadership shown, by young conservationists

Congratulations Mike Steel

The Society congratulates one of its members, Mr Mike Steel, who was awarded the Panglima Gemilang Darjah Kinabalu (PGDK), which carries the title “Datuk”, by the Head of State, Tun Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Ahmadshah bin Abdullah, on the occasion of his 63rd birthday on 16th October 2009.

Professor Kamarudin Mat-Salleh

It is with regret that the Society informs its members of the passing of Professor Kamarudin Mat Salleh, one of its long time members,  on 9th November, 2009.

Prof. Kamarudin was an active and much appreciated member of the Society for many years, was the author of the book  “Rafflesia – Magnificent Flower of Sabah”,
