One of Kota Kinabalu’s best-kept secrets – the walking trails on Gaya Island – was sampled by a small group of The Sabah Society members. New Secretariat at Lot 34, 1st floor, Block E, Damai Plaza Phase 4, Luyang, Kota Kinabalu. Apart from being an administrative office, it is our aim and intention that the new office shall be a place for the members to meet and socialize or just browse in the library. The new Secretariat will move Camping trip to Sorinsim Sub-station, Kota Marudu. Intrepid members of The Sabah Society on top of Mt Trusmadi Malaysia’s second highest mountain. Sabah Society President Dr Heng Aik Cheng thanking Dr Rudy Wenk for his talk ‘Reminscences about Eduard Wenk’s Travels in Borneo, 1936-1939’ about the Borneo adventures of his father (who was the personality Winki in Agnes Keith’s well-known book Land Below the Wind) illustrated with many of his father’s photos. Tengku Datuk (Dr) Adlin with speakers Jimmy Omar (representing Waidi Sinun) and Randall Quirk after their talk on the Imbak Canyon conservation Area. Dr Ravi Mandalam thanking Mr Michael Ickes for his screening of a 30-minute video, “Exploring the Old Trails from Kiau up Mt Kinabalu”. Speakers Chin Shui Hiung, Ravi Mandalam and Christopher Chin with the Sabah Society President, Dr Heng Aik Cheng, after their talk on the climbing of the Eastern Plateau of Mt Kinabalu. Sabah Society members who enjoyed a camping trip to Mahua Waterfall in Crocker Range Park.
